Proclamation
“Older Americans Month”
May 2020
WHEREAS, the City includes a growing number of older Americans who make countless
contributions to our community every day; and
WHEREAS, the City is stronger when people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds are
included and encouraged to make their mark; and
WHEREAS, the City recognizes the importance of the physical, mental, social, and emotional
well-being of its citizens; and
WHEREAS, the City can enhance the lives of older Americans in our community by:
Promoting home and community-based services that support independent living;
Involving older adults in community planning, events, and other activities; and
Providing opportunities for older adults to share their experiences.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Saul Martinez, Mayor of the City of Pasco, Washington,
encourage all citizens to take time during this month to acknowledge older adults, and the
people who serve them, as influential and vital individuals who greatly contribute to our
community, and to observe the month of May 2020 as
“Older Americans Month”
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Official Seal of
the City of Pasco, State of Washington, to be affixed this 11th day of May 2020.
