ADJOURNMENT Page 2 of 5 MINUTES Parks & Recreation Advisory Board 5:30 PM - Thursday, February 3, 2022 MS Teams Meeting CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 5:40 pm, by Jason Ruud, Chairperson ROLL CALL Boardmembers Present: Nolvia Salinas, Edgar Delgado, Bradyn Leyde, Jason Ruud and David Milne (City Council Rep.). Boardmembers Absent: Julie Campos, Kate Bonderman, Shane Arnott. City Staff Present: Dan Dotta, Brent Kubalek, Zach Ratkai. APPROVAL OF MINUTES MOTION: Jason moved to approve the minutes from the January 6, 2022 meeting. Bradyn seconded. Motion carried unanimously. COUNCIL REP & BOARDMEMBER REPORTS Nolvia • Apologized for missing January meeting • Has seen an increase in dog manure in the parks • Asked when the shelter will be installed in Palomino Park. Dan responded it will be installed in the spring STAFF REPORTS Recreation • Frozen Tundra Trail Run at Big Cross January 29 • Assisted with City of Pasco face mask giveaway • Big Ball Tournament last weekend in February • Internship & Job Fair February 12th Page 1 of 3Page 3 of 5 • Highlighted ongoing Recreation programs • New Recreation Specialist starts February 7 • Selected for a Grant targeted at underserved populations in Pasco Parks & Facilities • Park Restroom improvements include panic buttons, soap dispensers & fresh paint • Softball Field prep with new multi use equipment • Winter equipment repairs • Inspections to ensure standardization & protect City resources • City wide pruning • Marina Dock damage and removal • Post Office lighting upgrades • Cemetery - 9 funerals A&CS Director • Peanuts Park - Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in March • Schlagel Park - Final permit moving forward • Winter Emergency Damage Report - Could lead to replacement of damaged dock • Parks & Recreation Master Plan - Moving forward, getting good community feedback UNFINISHED BUSINESS 2022 Park Board Goals Zach suggested the board table the goals until after City Council sets goals at their March Retreat and the Parks & Recreation Master plan is closer to completion. All Boardmembers present agreed to table the goals until after City Council goals are set and the Parks & Recreation Master Plan is closer to completion. NEW BUSINESS 2022 Grand Old 4th of July Parade Grand Marshal 2022 Grand Old 4th of July Parade Grand Marshal selection process was introduced. Board was asked to review current list and send any additional potential nominees' names and background to Brent to be added to the list.
