meeting.

1. Recommend opening trainings to be accessible to the
community and local business owners looking to educate
themselves on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
2. Help the City develop a strategic equity plan.

CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 6:05 pm, by Jeffrey Robinson,
Chairperson
ROLL CALL
Commissioners Present: Maria Torres Mendoza, Jeffrey Robinson, Kyle
Saltz, Naima Chambers Smith, Elouise Sparks
Commissioners Absent: Joel Nunn-Sparks, Carly Coburn
City Staff: Angela Pashon, Dave Zabell
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Chambers-Smith moved to approve the Minutes of the
March 17, 2021 meeting. Commissioner Sparks seconded. Motion
passed unanimously.
STAFF REPORTS
Staff provided a brief review of presentation to City Council on IDEC
workplan.
Staff sought feedback on resolution for City Council.
NEW BUSINESS
Commission discussed first three prioritized items from the workplan.

and inclusion. City staff to explore options for partnership.
2 - Help the City develop a strategic equity plan. Commissioner
Chambers-Smith and Torres Mendoza assigned to draft outline.
3. Create a portal on the City's website and Facebook page.
Commissioner Nunn-Sparks assigned.
