COMMISSIONER REPORTS STAFF REPORTS UNFINISHED BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS Presentation on Hanford Reach Solar System by Trevor Macduff, Silas Education Commissioner Martinez made motioned, Commisisoner Merkley-Omeje seconded, for staff to look into presented project information. May 2019:Colima sent Executive Chef Jennifer Arrana of Casa Trapiche to participate in Cinco de Mayo and initiate the Chefs Table Dinner Series at Pasco Specialty Kitchen. Jun 2019:Held first meeting of local steering committee to establish framework for exchange. Attended by 25 people representing 21 organizations. Jul 2019:Work plans for steering committee work groups drafted. Oct 2019:Pasco delegation reciprocates exploratory visit to Colima. Nov 2019:Negotiation and approval of Cooperation and Friendship Agreement. Jan 2020:Formation of Colima-Pasco Cooperation & Friendship Association. Progress to Date Cinco De Mayo 2020:Visit from Governor postponed due to Covid-19. October 2020:Christmas Concert approved by COPA and City of Pasco & Encanto Arts. Dec 25 2020: Christmas Concert Performance highlighting COPA partnership with performances by Tenor José Iñiguez and Colima Soprano Alejandra Espino. Jan 2021:Jose Iniguez -Rotarian visits to Coquimatlan to fund a new rehabilitation clinic. Jan 2021:Multi-club Rotary approved funding of $30,000 for clinic. Mar 2021:Encanto Arts Approves Instrument funding for the state of Colima Symphonic - $3,000 in support of COPA, City of Pasco relationship with state of Colima. Sept/ Oct 2021: Potential Visit from Governor of Colima to sign agreement in celebration of this a Sunset Concert with the Mid-Columbia symphony with special guest conductor Miguel Angle Alattorre would like to be planned. Rotary International Tri-City Rotarians enjoy a long-standing relationship with the Colima City and State. Rotary International has made many sustainable investments in Colima, including: Vision Clinics Health Clinics Adult Education Programs Medical Equipment Project Amigo They will continue to build on these relationships and explore new program ideas. Pasco-Colima Today ◦Pasco City Council approved Cooperation and Friendship Agreement December 2019. •Governor of Colima invited to participate in 2020 Cinco de Mayo as Parade Grand Marshall and invited for Hispanic Heritage Month 2021 •Jose Iniguez of Encanto Arts was invited and performed in Colima this past December 2020.
