Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes: Minutes Approving: _March 2020 Meeting_ Motion: Bradyn Lydle Second: Edgar Delgado Approval Vote: Unanimous III. Staff Reports: a. Recreation – Brent Kubalek  Gave update on A Street Sports Complex project o Project going before Hearing Examiner on Sept 9. o Construction Document finalization and RFP should be done by end of September.  Gave update on Chapel Hill Park Project o Currently at 75% design, playgrounds selected and park design reflective of feedback received from the community in 2017. o Project set to go before the Hearing Examiner on October 14. o Construction Document finalization and RFP should be done by end of October  Gave Program Highlights since COVID Shutdown o Staycation – Daily activities that kids and family could do from home during time out of school a. Started with intent was for the initial 6-week closure. Ended up doing 13.5 weeks through to the end of the school year. o Black Rocket Online Camps a. Partnered with Black Rocket to offer week long STEM Technology Camps throughout the summer b. Camps such as Roblox Makers, Coding Academy, Create your own Racing Game, Etc. o Online/At-home Programming a. Suach as Mario Kart Tournaments, At-home free throw contests, Online Bingo, Etc. o Carpool Cinemas – Partnership program with Kennewick & Richland. a. Sponsored by Windermere Realty and Numerica Credit Union (Paid $1500 each to each City) b. Drive-in Style movies in each of the three Cities. 3 movie showing two night and one daytime. c. Pasco Attendance at each of was 162 Cars, 21 Cars, 111 Cars.  Gave summary of upcoming program plans o Halloween Event including Drive-In Movie and Drive-thru Trunk- or-treat o Plans for LCBR o Alternate fall sports leagues  Informed Park Board that the All Area Joint Parks Board and Commissions Meeting has been canceled this year, and that Pasco would still be the designated host next year. b. Parks & Facilities – Zach Ratkai (in absence of Dan Dotta)  Gave summary of Park Maintenance since COVID Shutdown o Original reassignment of Parks Staff to PW led to slow start to park maintenance o Reorganization of Division resulted in hire of 7 new FT employees o Seasonal hiring has been slow and difficult due to COVID, etc.  Parks crew prepping for Drive-in Air Show this weekend (9/4-9/6) c. ACS Director – Zach Ratkai  Gave history and update on Schlagel Park Boat Launch and Park Grant Project o Entering into agreement for A&E services at Tuesday City Council Meeting  Gave an overview of the Strategic Planning Process and asked for Park Board input as to whether or not they would be supportive in moving forward to create a Strategic Plan for Parks and Recreation. He then laid out a basic schedule for starting the Strategic Planning process. o Board Members were supportive  Informed Park Board that Richland had decided to cancel the All Senior and Community Picnic this year and that Richland would be host to the picnic next year. IV. Other: a. Informed the Board that new board member appointments would take place at the Tuesday, 9/8/2020 City Council meeting, at which the vacant Park Board Position would be filled. V. City Council Representative Suggestions & Reports – (Dave Milne – Absent) VI. Park Board Member Round Table  Jason Ruud – Gave a reminder to everyone that they need to complete the Open Public Meetings training by September 24. VII. Meeting Adjourned Time: __6:26pm_____ VIII.
