Personnel Activity
• Attended Monthly Safety Meetings
• Annual ELM for crew
Park & Facility Projects
• Rebuilt planter Bed at 20th Island
• Re-landscaped Bus/Train Depot
• Cleaned up some homeless camps
• Equipment repairs for the season
• Repaired Chiawana Boat dock
• Started preparing the softball fields for next year
• Cleaned leaves
• Tumbleweeds are back
• Reorganized the zones into 4 areas
• Implemented a work order system
• Installed 2 dishwashers for the Fire Department
• Electrical work at Station 81 and 82
Cemetery
• 6 Funerals: 4 burials, 2 cremains
• $23,883.36 in business for the month for Dec
• Completed Pet Cemetery
• Built privacy wall for new service area
Special Events
• City Hall remodel phase 4 complete
• Winter Fest
• Cable Bridge Run
b. Recreation
RECREATION PAST HIGHLIGHTS
• Youth Basketball Games start on 1/18 - just under 500 participants
• Adult Basketball has started - full with 32 teams
o 4 women's teams did not hold last 2 years.
• Winterfest went well - about 3000 in attendance
o Thank you to all who volunteered
• Lampson Cable Bridge Run
o 2099 registered with 1938 actually running
• Held our first Turkey Bowl on Thanksgiving - 4 teams
• A Street - Have selected Cultural Resource Survey Consultant & Design
Firm
• Agreements for Soccer leagues use of Road 36
• January to April Program Guide was released the beginning of December –
Registration going on now.
• Have sent out “Kids In the Game” (KITG) information. KITG is a youth
recreational sports scholarshiping organization. Participants register with
KITG and if approved KITG send the payment check directly to the city.
RECREATION UPCOMING
• Registering for Softball
• Mom & Son's Night Out is on February 7
• Planning for Summer Programs
• Will have 5 summer movies instead of 3
• Working on changing/extending the Grand Old 4th Parade route
• Meeting with Port of Pasco to explore possibility of changing Cable Bridge
Run 5K route.
c. ACS Director
• Peanuts Park
1. At 90% design,
2. Aiming to go out to bid in February
3. Have secured all of the funding for the project
• Aquatic Center
1. Putting together the ballot language for a August 2020 vote
2. Consultants will be giving a Presentation on January 28

a. Volunteering – Mom & Son’s is February 7
• Volunteer Times are 12:00 – 3:00pm & 6:15 – 9:45pm

• Asked about the trees by Chiawana
• New Mayor – Mat Watkins is gone as he did not run for reelection, Saul Martinez
was elected as the new Mayor, Blanche Barajas is Mayor Pro-Tem
• New Council Member is Zahra Roach

• Nolvia –
o Asked about reasoning for type of landscaping on 20th ave.
Safety, Cleanliness, and water conservation. Note that there are plants
and they will grow.
o Asked about Tree Recycling at Big Cross

o Asked about the new benches at Big Cross
Eagle scout project
o Asked about cost of lot at Pet Cemetery
