REGULAR MEETING 5:15 P.M. March 13, 2019
I. 5:15—CALL TO ORDER:
II. 5:15—ROLL CALL: Present: Marilynn Baker, Malin Bergstrom, Dan Stafford,
Devi Tate; Absent: Tom Brandon (Excused); Guests: Randy Nunamaker,
Claude Oliver, Richard "Dick" Scheuerman; Tim Sullivan
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
A. December 12, 2018 - Approved
IV. 5:20—OLD BUSINESS:
A. None
V. PUBLIC HEARINGS:
A. None
VI. WORKSHOP:
A. Guests Claude Oliver and Tim Sullivan proposed a memorial, consisting of a
cornerstone, a plaque, and a school wagon to commemorate the Historic East
Pasco (Whittier) School Site. Commissioners generally expressed support;
Commissioner Bergstrom voiced concerns about long-term maintenance of a
wooden wagon left out in the elements.
B. Guest Richard "Dick" Scheuerman shared some updates from the Franklin
County Historical Society's progress digitizing and cataloguing documents,
specifically 50 or so years' worth of the Franklin Flyer.
C. Staff mentioned progress being made on the CLG Grant for East Pasco sites of
African American Cultural Significance, as well as the contributions of
Volunteer Lori Larson. Commissioners suggested inviting Ms. Larson to the
next meeting and discussing a story line for the railroad module for continuity
and viewability.
