July 10, 2019 I. 5:15—CALL TO ORDER: II. 5:15—ROLL CALL: Present: Marilynn Baker, Chair, Malin Bergstrom, Devi Tate; Absent: Chair Dan Stafford (Excused); Tom Brandon (Excused); Guests: Richard "Dick" Scheuerman; Shelby Bergstrom. III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: A. April 10, 2019 - Approved IV. 5:20—OLD BUSINESS: A. None V. PUBLIC HEARINGS: A. None VI. WORKSHOP: A. Commissioners discussed possibility of tasking contractee Tanya Bowers to a) recognize and preserve the historical significance of the Lewis Street Underpass, including a photo documentation and a commemorative plaque and/or coin, and to b) develop a plan for designing and placing panels/ markers/plaques for sites of historical significance; Commissioner Bergstrom shared how she had commemorative coins minted for the NAS Pasco Air control Tower at a cost of around $6-7 apiece with a run of 250 coins, plus a setup fee. Guest Dick Scheuerman shared how the State Prison manufactures quality historic plaques with photos and narratives at near cost; B. The Commission and guests watched the draft City of Pasco video assembled in partial fulfilment of the "soft match" for the CLG Grant for East Pasco sites of African American Cultural Significance. Proposed revisions included the following: a) Need to tag Karen Campbell. b) Need to eliminate the blackout transition between Karen Campbell's first and second clips. c) Need to balance the volume between clips and also between vocals and music. d) Need to slow 8v lengthen the quote rolls—maybe by 1/2 time—so people can read the quotes (several commissioners said this). e) Need to change "Wilkerson" to "Wilkins" in the credits. fl Asked to add Whittier School materials. g) Asked to add Eastside Market materials. VII. 6:35—OTHER BUSINESS: A. Commissioners requested that they be able to discuss chnge from monthly to quarterly meeting schedule change. Request was referred to the C&ED Director. B. Next Meeting October 9, 2019 VIII. 6:40—ADJOURNMENT
