REGARDING GENERAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF PASCO
AND
MURRAYSMITH
Project Description:
The professional engineering services associated with this Task Order 5 are for designing solutions for the
breaker coordination and overload problems found in the partial are flash assessment and breaker
coordination study previously completed on MCCs-840A, 840B and 240.
Scope of Services:
Develop a plan to fix the breaker coordination and overload issues identified in the partial are flash
report for MCCs 240 and 840B, respectively.
For the MCC 240 breaker coordination work, a plan will be developed that details the
adjustment of existing and/or installation of new more modern breakers. Arc -flash and cost
impacts will be evaluated to determine the recommended improvements. These
modifications will likely change the arc -flash stickers provided in the previous study.
Updated stickers for City installation will be provided as part of this work.
To address the MCC 840B breaker overload, a plan will be developed based on an evaluation
of the various options and relative associated costs based on Consultant's experience.
Options include running new underground electrical conduit and conductors, installation of
load switches, and/or diversion of power demands to another MCC.
It is assumed the City will hire an electrician from their small works roster, independent of this task
order, to complete the recommended improvements identified. Improvements plans provided by the
Consultant will include written explanation and/or simplistic drawings with equipment/material
notes only. The development of a detailed construction contract and technical specifications are not
included.
Time of Performance:
Work will be completed within 30 days of Notice to Proceed.
Fee for Services:
The professional engineering services will be billed on a time and materials basis with a total estimated
budget of $5,104 (Exhibit A). The budget shall not be exceeded without prior written authorization from
the City. Compensation and payment is per the On -Call Municipal Engineering Services, Professional
Services Agreement.
