REGULAR MEETING 5:15 P.M. October 11, 2017
I. 5:15—CALL TO ORDER:
II. 5:15—ROLL CALL: Present: Dan Stafford, Marilynn Baker, Malin Bergstrom,
Devi Tate; Absent: Tom Brandon (Excused).
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

VI. WORKSHOP:
A. Staff reported that the CLG Grant contract for East Pasco sites of African
American Cultural Significance will go to the October 23, 2017 Council
Workshop and if approved, will go out to bid.
B. Commissioners discussed at some length Commissioner Tate's idea of
requesting to "remodel" the BNSF Cenex building located on the "priority one"
RR museum property, provided a minimal cost, long-term lease could be
secured; and acquisition strategies including Commissioner Tate recruiting
Garland Crumb to approach the BNSF (possibly pro bono) to secure such a
deal.
C. Commissioner Bergstrom reported experiencing difficulty securing past
interview tapes, digital files. Staff related that Jon Funfar was planning on on
going back to the Moore Mansion for some "b-roll" footage; he was to have
something by this month's meeting.Unfortunately, the arrangements to biew
the draft Moore Mansion interview were not made in time for the meeting.
D. Commissioners discussed "Historic Pasco" Presentation "mock up;" that the
final product would consist of multiple discrete, easy-to-view 5-minute
segments which could be viewed separately or together in a single sitting.
II. 6:35—OTHER BUSINESS:
A. Commissioner Bergstrom distributed courtesy copies to the Commission of a
DVD depicting NAS Pasco history between 1942 and 1946.
B. Commissioner Stafford shared with the commission some photos of both the
BNSF Pasco railroad station and the Marine Terminal flooding of 1948.
