REGULAR MEETING 5:15 P.M. September 13, 2017

Absent: Devi Tate (Excused), Malin Bergstrom (Excused). Guests: WSU Tri-
Cities Associate Professor of History Robert Bauman; Washington State
Railroads Historical Society President Tom Gronewald.

V. PUBLIC HEARINGS:

VI. WORKSHOP:
A. WSU Tri-Cities Associate Professor of History Robert Bauman shared a
Progress Report on CLG Grant for East Pasco sites of African American
Cultural Significance.
B. Commissionars and guest WSRHS President Tom Gronewald discussed 4+
properties suggested for RR museum acquisition, including a detailed
discussion on the Port of Pasco Marine Terminal area and its brownfield
remediation efforts; Commissioners concluded that the BNSF property across
from Milne Tools (between W. Lewis & W. "A" Street just west of 10th Ave) was
the optimal choice; strategies for acquisition were discussed.
II. Commissioner Stafford exhibited a Pasco High School keepsake bracelet to the
Commission.

4). Tamre Frare Long time Pasco resident (509) 366-5552 - 6709 W. Octave would like us to being naming
streets after some of our historical residents. Wondered if the new developer of Road 100 might consider
naming some streets for city leaders and founders. She would like a call back about whether this idea is feasible
and would be a great resource if we need any historical references.

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANCE OF NAMES OF CER-
TAIN STREETS HERETOFORE REFERRED TO AS BRIDGE AVENUE, AR-
THUR AVENUE, HAWTHORNE AVENUE, NORBART AVENUE, POPLAR
AVENUE, VINE AVENUE, FRANCES AVENUE, JACKSON AVENUE,
HICKORY AVENUE, AURILIA AVENUE , SACAJAWEA AVENUE, MURRAY
AVENUE, WHITMAN AVENUE, ADAMS AVENUE, FOSTER AVENUE,
MONROE AVENUE, COLE AVENUE, JEFFERSON AVENUE, SHIP AVE-
NUE, LUCAS AVENUE, PACIFIC AVENUE, ONEONTA AVENUE, MEAD
AVENUE, DAKOTA AVENUE, ILLINOIS AVENUE, LYNDALE AVENUE,
MERIDIAN AVENUE, OAKLEY AVENUE, RICHAARDSON AVENUE, CHASE
AVENUE, NORTH STREET AND YAKIMA STREET; AND REPEALING
ORDINANCE NO. 1716*.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The following streets for their entire lengths are hereby renamed and hence-
forth shall be referred to as follows:
1. Bridge Avenue is renamed Fourth (4th) Lane
2 . Arthur Avenue is renamed Fifth (5th) Avenue
3. Hawthorne Avenue is renamed Sixth (6th) Avenue
4. Norbar t Avenue and Poplar Avenue are renamed Seventh (7th) Avenue
5. Vine Avenue is renamed Seventh (7th) Lane
6. Frances Avenue and Jackson Avenue are renamed Eighth (8th) Avenue
7. Hickory Avenue is renamed Ninth (9th) Avenue
8. Aurilia Avenue and Saca}awea Avenue are renamed Tenth (10th) Avenue
9. Whitman Avenue is renamed Eleventh (11th) Avenue
18. Adams Avenue, Foster Avenue and Monroe Avenue are renamed
Twelfth (12th) Avenue
11. Cole Avenue and Jefferson Avenue are renamed Thirteenth (13th) Avenue
12 . Ship Avenue is renamed Thirteenth (13th) Lane
13. Lucas Avenue is renamed Fourteenth (14th) Avenue
1.4. Pacific Avenue and Oneonta Avenue are renamed Fifteenth (15th) Avenue
15. Mead Avenue is renamed Sixteenth (16th) Avenue
16. Dakota Avenue is renamed Seventeenth (17th) Avenue
17. Illinois Avenue is renamed Eighteenth (18th) Avenue
18. Lyndale Avenue is renamed Eighteenth (18th) Drive
19. Meridian Avenue and Oakley Avenue are renamed Nineteenth (19th) Avenue
20. Richardson Avenue is renamed Nineteenth (19th) Drive
21. Chase Avenue is renamed Twentieth (20th) Avenue
22 . North Street is renamed Jan Street.
Section 2. The following streets for the sections indicated are hereby renamed and
henceforth shall be referred to as follows:
1. Murray Avenue from Shoshone Street to Hopkins Street is
renamed Eleventh (11th) Avenue
2. Yakima Street from Fifth (5th) Avenue to Tacoma Avenue is
renamed Sylvester Street.
Section 3. This Ordinance amends and supersedes any ordinance or part of any ordi-
nance in conflict hereto; and repeals Ordinance No. 1716 adopted June 16, 1975
(*not published) .
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full farce and effect on September 1, 1975.
PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED as required by law th 1
day of July , 1975.
