HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-09-1995 MinutesCatherine D Seaman Deputy City Clerk MINUTES PASCO CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING JANUARY 9, 1995 CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7 30 P M by Joyce DeFelice, Mayor ROLL CALL By City Manager Councilmembers present Joyce DeFehce, Michael Gamson, Edgar Hargrow, Chris Jensen, Dan Lathim, Charles Kilbury, and Carl Strode Also present Gary Crutchfield, City Manager, Greg Rubstello, City Attorney, and Kurt Luhrs, Administrative Assistant NEW BUSINESS Baseball Stadium Contract Mr Erickson explained that the bids received for this project were extremely close in the bids amounts Staff recommends that Alternates #1, 2, and 4 be accepted Rust E & I recommended that the deductive alternates be taken and that a basic stadium would be appropriate for the community Staff recommends accepting the base bid of the stadium, the full parking lot, the screen wall, the wrought iron, and the concrete paving for a total of $2,650,783 Mr Crutchfield stated that the recommendation presented to Council is the combined recommendation of four staff members Mr Jensen concurred with staffs recommendation and that the aesthetics of the stadium is important for the community Mr Kilbury felt that only the concrete paving is necessary and that the stadium will get by without the other alternatives Mr Strode concurred with Mr Jensen that the alternates should be included as recommended by staff MOTION Mr Jensen moved to award the contract for construction of the Tn-Cities Baseball Stadium to Chervenell Construction Company, including Alternates #1, 2, and 4, for a total contract amount of $2,650,783, excluding sales tax and, further, authorize staff to award the bid to Skillmgstad Construction, the second lowest bidder, if Chervenell does not submit all required documents to city staff within the time period set in the bid documents Mr Strode seconded the motion Motion carried by the following roll call vote Yes - Hargrow, Lathim, Garrison, DeFelice, Jensen, Strode, No - Kilbury ADJOURNMENT No further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7 45 p m c..e, Felice, Mayor Al 'EST PASSED and APPROVED this 17 day of January , 1994 MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING PASCO CITY COUNCIL JANUARY 9, 1995 $78,000, and authonze $73,396 from the Street Lightmg Reserve Fund Mr Lathim seconded the motion Motion carried by a unanimous roll call vote ADJOURNMENT No further busmess, the meeting was adjourned ATTEST Catherine D Seaman Deputy City Clerk PASSED and APPROVED this 21 day of Felu , 1994 -2-
