PUBLIC HEARINGS AND COUNCIL ACTION ON ORDINANCES RELATING THERETO:
MAYOR HENDLER DECLARED THE PUBLIC HEARING OPEN TO CONSIDER FINAL
ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR LID NO. 120:
Mr. Dennis Wright, City Engineer, stated the Hearing had been
publicized according to State Law and all affected property
owners notified. There were no written communications.
LID No. 120 is construction of Road 34 between Henry and Court
Street and is nearly complete. While minor construction items
remain, the final costs of the project have been determined, and
the final assessments have been mailed to the property owners.
The final assessment roll amount was $79,778.72, which was
approximately 10.8% under the preliminary assessment roll of
$89,496.00. A portion of the underrun was due to the fact that
one property owner placed curb, gutter, and sidewalk prior to
construction of the LID. Most property owners, therefore, saw a
real savings of approximately 9.6% from their preliminary
assessed amount. The exception to this would be at the Heidi
Haus, where the property owner requested an additional driveway
be added after the start of construction, and also requested that
one of his driveways be modified. That assessment actually
increased approximately $800 over the preliminary assessment.
Following three (3) calls from Mayor Hendler for further comments
from the floor, either for or against, the public hearing was
declared closed.
