PASCO CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING AUGUST 26, 1985
CALL TO ORDER
Special meeting called to order at 8 00 P.M. by Joe W. Jackson, Mayor.
ROLL CALL
By City Manager Councilmen present were Susan Boothe, Beverly Green,
Charles Grigg, Ira Schmidt, E.A. Snider, Joe Jackson and Emerson Morgan Also
present were Gary Crutchfield, City Manager, Greg Rubstello, City Attorney,
Jerry Conner, Finance Director, Donald Francis, Chief of Police, Larry Dickinson,
Fire Chief, Max Bigby, Assistant Planner, and David McDonald, Director of
Community Development
PRESENTATION OF COMMENDATION AWARD TO ROBERT ROJAS, RICKY REYES AND JESSE RIVAS
Mayor Jackson and Police Chief Donald Francis to present a Certificate of
Appreciation to the above individuals for their direct aid in capturing a
purse snatcher and returning the recovered purse to its owner, 73 year-old
Mildred Raugust.
The honorees were not in attendance, therefore, award will be held in
abeyance.
REFUND OF EXCESS EQUIPMENT RENTAL CHARGES. Mr. Grigg moved to authorize the refund
of $37,034 from the Equipment Rental Operating Fund and $117,798 from the
Equipment Rental Replacement Fund to various using funds in accordance with
City of Pasco Ordinance No. 2484. Seconded by Mr. Schmidt Motion carried
by roll call vote of seven (7).
MUNICIPAL INSURANCE The City Manager reported that as of this date, the City had
not received an insurance quote from our carrier. It appeared the only option
we have is either purchase insurance coverage at exorbitant price or establish
a reserve fund and self-insure.
Councilman Grigg concurred with logic and suggested that we discuss our options
at the next regular council meeting (September 3, 1985). By that time, we might
have a quotation from Lloyd's of London.
ADJOURNMENT
No further business, special meeting adjourned at 8 25 P.M.
