CALL TO ORDER
Meeting called to order at 8 00 P M by E A Snider, Mayor
ROLL CALL
SEPTEMBER 12, 1983
By City Manager Councilmen present were Susan Boothe, Beverly Green, Ira
Schmidt, E A Snider, Joe Jackson and Emerson Morgan. Councilman Charles Grigg
was absent from the meeting (excused) Also present were Lee Kraft, City Manager,
Greg Rubstello, City Attorney, Diane Dolan, Finance Director, and James Ajax,
Director of Public Works/City Engineer
SPECIAL MEETING ITEMS
RESOLUTION NO 1602
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A STORM DRAIN EASEMENT FROM TIPPETT
LAND AND MORTGAGE COMPANY
Resolution No 1602 was read by title only Mr Schmidtimoved to approve
Resolution No 1602, which, if passed, has the effect of accepting an easement
from Tippett Land and Mortgage Company, necessary for the construction of the
Oregon Avenue Storm Drain on the Short Route Option Seconded by Mrs Boothe
Motion carried by roll call vote of six (6)
BID OPENING - OREGON AVENUE STORM SEWER Mr Jackson moved to award the
construction contract for the Oregon Avenue Storm Sewer to low bidder, Higley
Excavation, in the amount of $195,761 68, all in response to their proposal
submitted September 1, 1983 and, further, to authorize the Mayor to sign the
contract documents Seconded by Mr Schmidt
Mr James Ajax, City Engineer, wanted the record to indicate the following
clarification for award of bid "We recommended PVC option, and although it
is 5% more, it will carry 20% more water Further, we wanted to use the PVC
to gain experience because we may be using it on the $3 5 million dollar
sanitary sewer system to serve Riverview and annexed area '
