SPECIAL MEETING OCTOBER 27, 1980
CALL TO ORDER
Meeting called to order at 8 00 P V by the Honorable Chet Bailie, Mayor
ROLL CALL
By City Manager Councilmen present were S K Adams, J C Bailie,
Beverly Green, Charles Grigg, Ira Schmidt and E A Snider Councilman Bill
Wilkins was excused as he is in the hospital Also present were Lee Kraft,
City Manager, Dennis Pe Felice, City Attorney, Tom Criscola, Director of Finance,
James Ajax, City Engineer, Mike Vandiver, Chief of Police, Webster Jackson,
Administrative Assistant and Gary Crutchfield, Planner
PUBLIC MEETING
MAYOR BAILIE DECLARED THE PUBLIC HEARING OPEN ON ELIMINATION OF PARKING -
COURT STREET, 4th to 14th
It was noted that the Special Meeting had been duly published and posted One (1)
communication in opposition was received from Arthur Schindler and noted in the
record Verbal opposition was received from Charles Greer and a petition was
presented with the following names - protesting the elimination They are as
follows Arthur Schindler, Gerald Cowles, Pauline Cowles, Lillie Riemath, Herb Eby,
Emma Dahmen, Lola Dahmen, Toribio Prmijo, Jr , Sandra LaLonde, Luella Steele,
Earl Steele, Sue Myers, Ervin Dahmen and Jeannette Dahl
Mr Jim Woodhead, owner of Coast to Coast Stores, supported proposed ban on parking
and submitted a petition bearing the following signatures in support of the
elimination Pete & Sheela Overlie, Chuck Hines, Fran Thomas, Jack & JoAnne Simons,
Jim Woodhead, Don McClure, James Baggett, Robert Leaper, A Remy, Lyle Schmidt,
Robin Pischel, Bob Pischel and Jerry Smith This petition represented approximately III90% of businesses in this area
Following three (3) calls from Mayor Bailie for further comments from the floor,
either for or against, the Public Hearing was declared closed
ORDINANCES
ORDINANCE NO 2197 (Reconsidered)
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PASCO PROHIBITING PARKING ON
CERTAIN STREETS BY AMENPING SECTION 10 56 080 OF THE PASCO
MUNICIPAL COPE
Ordinance No 2197 was read by title only Mr Snider moved that Ordinance No
2197 be reconsildered and adopted Seconded by Mr Grigg Motion carried by
roll call vote of five (5) Councilman Adams voting no
ANOUPMMENT
Mr Don McClure and Mrs Fran Thomas gave a verbal presentation of their
support for the elimination of parking
Meeting adjourned at 8 33 P M
