A RESOLUTION urging Franklin County's designation of TRIDEC as its Associate Development Organization WHEREAS, the State of Washington previously established a state-wide economic development program based on the concept of each county designating an Associate Development Organization (ADO) to act on behalf of the respective county to pursue industrial development leads referred to the respective ADO's, as well as to establish or augment any local economic development programs, and WHEREAS, Franklin County, since inception of the ADO Program by the state, has designated the Tri-Cities Industrial Development Council (TRIDEC) as its ADO, and WHEREAS, TRIDEC has firmly established strong and effective marketing and industrial recruitment programs with additional financial assistance from the City of Pasco and other entities within the bi-county region, and WHEREAS, the TRIDEC marketing and recruitment programs have contributed to the selection of Franklin County sites for development by J R Simplot Company, Twin City Foods and Dakotah Direct, collectively representing in excess of S60 million private investment and 600 new jobs in Franklin County over the past three years, and WHEREAS, the State of Washington Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development (CTED) has requested all counties in the state to designate the appropriate agency to act as the ADO for each respective county, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Franklin County are hereby urged to affirm the designation of TRIDEC as the Associate Development Organization for Franklin County and its political subdivisions PASSED by the City Council of the City of Pasco at a regular meeting this Q\ day of , 1997 CITY 0 ASCO: Catherine D.
