A RESOLUTION exercising the Reserve Police Officers Retirement Election WHEREAS, the Washmgton State Legislature has by the 1995 amendment to Chapter 41 24 RCW permitted cities to elect making retirement provisions available to reserve police officers, and, WHEREAS, the City Council on November 4th, 1996, with the passage of Ordinance No 3185 elected to make the retirement provisions available to Pasco reserve police officers, and, WHEREAS, the City is required within one (1) year of its election to provide these benefits, elect, on a one time basis, its participation option, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: I. Election. The City of Pasco elects to count for the purposes of RCW 41 24 170(Rehrement Pensions) a credit for all services and pension payments as a reserve police officer with the City paying a portion of the actuary costs for years of service only accrued m a combined amount not to exceed $24,988 dollars The City may charge the reserve officer for any portion of this cost, and to pay annual fees for service pnor to the effective date of the act if the reserve officers elect within one (1) year to pay the annual fee plus 1% per month interest for each past year of service counted Each reserve officer will have one (1) year from the date of this election to elect to participate in the program and determine the extent of that participation The City may require the reserve officer to pay any portion of the costs for previous years credit for both years of service credit and years paid into the system PASSED by the City Council of the City of Pasco, Washington, this /C day of December, 1996 SIGNED in authentication of its passage this I day of December, 1996 Charles Kilbury Mayor ATTEST: APPROVED AS TO FORM: Cathenne Seaman Leland B Kerr Deputy City Clerk City Attorney
