Ktlbury, ayor RESOLUTION NO. c:)17'0 A RESOLUTION seeking U S Army Corps of Engineers assistance in evaluating potential levee modification WHEREAS, the City Council has long desired to accomplish modification of the Columbia River levee situated between Road 40 and the Pasco Boat Basin, so as to improve its harmony with the natural environment as well as restore greater human use of the shoreline environment, and WHEREAS, the U S Army Corps of Engineers offers project evaluation assistance through its Section 1135 Program, and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to learn of the potential of a levee modification project which would accomplish the dual objectives of improving fish habitat along the affected Columbia River shore and improving human access to and enjoyment of that shoreline, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to initiate and actively seek assistance available under the U S Army Corps of Engineers Section 1135 Program, to conduct a feasibility study of a project concept which will improve Columbia River fish habitat in the vicinity of the Pasco levee and improve human access to and enjoyment of the respective shoreline PASSED by the City Council of the City of Pasco at a regular meeting this 20th day of February, 1996 ATTEST: Catherine D Seaman, Deputy City Clerk APPROVED AS TO FORM: -V -- ill Leland 11-&-r, City Attorne
