HomeMy WebLinkAbout2214 Resolutionc, eFelice, Mayor J —3-7 RESOLUTION NO A RESOLUTION describing the Pasco HOME Program and authorizing submission of an application for funding to the U S Department of Housing and Urban Development WHEREAS, there has been enacted into Public Law 101-625, the National Affordable Housing Act of 1990 (NAHA), the primary objective of which is to increase the supply of decent affordable housing for lower income Americans, and, WHEREAS, NAHA authorizes contiguous units of general local government to join together in a consortium, and WHEREAS, the cities of Kennewick, Pasco and Richland have formed a consortium to implement the objectives of increasing the local supply of decent affordable housing to low income residents, and, WHEREAS, the City of Richland has been designated lead agency with authorization to submit a funding application on behalf of the three city consortium BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON That the City of Richland is authorized to submit an application to the U S Department of Housing and Urban Development, on behalf of the City of Pasco, for HOME funding to be used to establish public-private partnerships with either for-profit or non-profit developers The City will send Requests for Proposals (RFP's) out to solicit projects for the rehabilitation of substandard multi-family dwellings or groups of single family dwellings Using a combination of HOME and private sector funds, these units will be rehabilitated to at least minimum housing code standards BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall take effect immediately PASSED by the City Council of the City of Pasco this cg rva day of 1995 Catherine Seaman, Deputy City Clerk APPROVED TO FORM City Attorney
