HomeMy WebLinkAbout2213 ResolutionRESOLUTION NO 2213 A RESOLUTION concerning speed limits on a portion of SR395, north of 1-182 WHEREAS, the City and the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) both recognize the need to improve the SR395/Hillsboro Street and SR395/Foster Wells Road intersections for improved highway safety, and WHEREAS, the Benton-Franklin Governmental Conference published the SR12/5R395 Corridor Study prepared by W and H Pacific in May 1991, and WHEREAS, Corridor Study identified several Interchange options for the SR395/Hillsboro and SR395/Foster Wells Road intersections after which there were numerous public meetings and opportunities for the public to comment on the Corridor Study and the options for the interchanges, and WHEREAS, the City recognizes the need for the improvements identified in the 1991 Corridor Study and contracted with HDR Engineering, Inc. in March 1995 to prepare a Scoping Study for an interchange at SR395/Hillsboro Street, and WHEREAS, the City recognizes the funding to construct interchanges at SR395/Hillsboro Street and SR395/Foster Wells Road is not available and the construction of the interchange will be several years in the future, and WHEREAS, the City recognizes the need for interim solution to improve the safety at SR395/Hillsboro Street and SR395/Foster Wells Road and with due consideration for both the public safety and economic realities, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: 1 The Pasco City Council recommends to the Washington State Department of Transportation to lower the speed limit to 45 mph on 5R395 northerly from 1-182 to one-thousand (1,000) feet north of Foster Wells Road 0, Passed by the City Council of the City of Pasco, at a regular meeting this Q 4 day of 0 Vabex‘ , 1995 City of Pasco.
