RESOLUTION NO.-c")\
A RESOLUTION accepting work by Ray Poland and Sons, Inc. under
contract for Project No. 87-2-01
WHEREAS, the work performed by Ray Poland and Sons, Inc.
under contract for Project No. 87-2-01 has been examined by the
City Engineer and the City Engineer has found that all work
required by the contract has been performed in apparent
compliance with the applicable project specifications and
drawings, and
WHEREAS, it is the City Engineer's recommendation that the
City of Pasco formally accept the contractor's work and the
project as complete, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO:
That the City Council concurs with the City Engineer's
recommendation and thereby accepts the work performed by
Ray Poland and Sons, Inc. under contract for Project No. 87-2-01
as being completed in apparent conformance with the project
specifications and drawings, and
Be it further resolved that the City Clerk is hereby
directed to notify the Washington State Department of Revenue
of this acceptance, and
Be it further resolved that the final payment of retainage
being withheld pursuant to applicable laws, regulations and
administrative determination shall be released upon satisfaction
of same and verification thereof by the City Engineer and
Director of Finance.

Motion I move to accept the construction of the
Maitland/Ainsworth Waterline under Project No 87-2-01

IV HISTORY AND FACTS BRIEF
This particular project was the construction of a waterline in
Ainsworth Avenue and Grace Avenue, between 4th Avenue and the
sewage treatment plant, and included a waterline in Maitland
Avenue, between the sewage treatment plant and A Street The
specific details of this project have been recorded on the attached
Engineer's Report The only significant deviation from the original
project included the need to hand tunnel rather than machine bore
under the railroad tracks
This project is now complete and staff requests it be accepted by
Council

SUBJECT: Engineers Report Accepting Ainsworth/Maitland
Waterline Project No. 87-2-01
Bids were opened on February 16, 1994.
Council awarded the contract on February 22, 1994.
Award was made to Ray Poland and Sons, Inc., in the amount of
$218,103.12.
Notice to proceed was issued on April 13, 1994.
The first working day charged to the project was April 14, 1994
and work was substantially complete on May 20, 1994.
There was one change order issued for this project increasing the
contract amount by $ 37,638 which was the increased cost to hand
dig under the railroad in order to push the pipe casing.
The final contract cost was $ 253,664.07 or about 16 % over the
original contract amount.
The project was completed substantially in conformance with the
project specifications and I recommend the project be accepted.
