HomeMy WebLinkAbout2116 ResolutionRESOLUTION NO. 02 iit A RESOLUTION expressing primary goals of the City of Pasco for the ensuing two years WHEREAS, the City of Pasco organization desires to focus the allocation of its resources toward primary goals selected to fulfill the vision of Pasco's future as held by its elected representatives, and WHEREAS, the City Council conducted a Community Forum on February 12, 1994, to elicit the concerns of residents about the present condition of the city, as well as thoughts and suggestions for Pasco's future, and WHEREAS, the city managerial staff has shared with the City Council its concerns for the present, as well as visions for the future of the Pasco community, and WHEREAS, the City Council conducted a goal-setting retreat on Saturday, February 26, 1994, to discuss all of the various concerns for the present and visions for the future, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the following goals shall be considered primary goals for the City of Pasco organization for the ensuing two years (calendar years 1994 and 1995) • Complete the extension of sewer and water services to Road 68 and Road 100 interchanges with sufficient capacity to support expected development • Implement Phase I of the Riverview sewer trunk system • Complete construction of Burden and Broadmoor Road projects • Actively support and lobby for the construction of interchanges at East Lewis/SR 12 intersections, and the Hillsboro/US 395 intersection • Construct an outdoor recreation complex in conjunction with TRAC, to include tournament-scale facilities for soccer and softball and a professional baseball stadium • Complete a demonstration project and develop an action plan for Rivershore Enhancement • Improve the visual appearance of the city • Implement a community image campaign • Actively work to better communicate, understand, value and manage our cultural diversity • Develop a comprehensive plan for a services district in the general downtown area • Update zoning and subdivision ordinances • Develop a comprehensive capital improvement plan • Evaluate the feasibility and desirability of annexation eastward to the Snake River • Continue aggressive anti-crime effort with emphasis on youth violence • Develop and implement an action plan for gateway improvements Section 2. The City Manager is hereby directed and authorized to formulate appropriate implementation strategies to achieve the goals set forth herein above, consistent with appropriation policies and procedures Passed by the City Council of the City of Pasco, at a regular meeting this 7th day of March, 1994 CITY OF PASCO: CATHERINE D.
