HomeMy WebLinkAbout2085 ResolutionJr RESOLUTION NO. 2085 A RESOLUTION creating an Ad Hoc Committee to be known as the Residential Property Maintenance Standards Task Force. WHEREAS, the City Council previously established an Ad Hoc Committee, known as the Property Maintenance Standards Task Force, charged with the responsibility of developing recommendations to reduce or eliminate problems associated with poor property maintenance as it relates to commercial and industrial areas of the city; and WHEREAS, during the course of their study, the Property Maintenance Standards Task Force developed a recommendation that the City Council establish a task force to specifically study poor property maintenance conditions in residential areas of the city; and WHEREAS, unkept yards, haphazard fence construction and other poor maintenance practices substantially contribute to an atmosphere of disinvesment and declining property values; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to eliminate or minimize such characteristics in the the community and thereby foster a positive atmosphere for investment and improvement of residential properties as well as increasing or stabilizing property values, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. There is hereby created a special Ad Hoc Task Force to be known as the "Residential Property Maintenance Standards Task Force", whose charge shall be to study property maintenance conditions within residential areas of the community and advise the City Council as to necessary actions that would reduce, eliminate and/or avoid such problems in the community. Section 2. The Task Force shall consist of nine members, the appointment of whom shall be confirmed by the City Council, as follows: . Two (2) members of the Pasco City Council . Seven (7) citizens at large Section 3. The Task Force shall conduct its organizational meeting no later than June 24, 1993 and report its findings and recommendations to the City Council no later than September 1, 1993. The City Manager shall provide the staff support necessary for the task force to conduct its business.
