A RESOLUTION creating an ad hoc committee to be known as the Suburban
Standards Task Force.
WHEREAS, the unincorporated area generally lymg west of SR 395 and
south of the FCID Canal, commonly referred to as "Riverview", is a residential
area charactenzed by a range of densities, including vmeyards and livestock,
and
WHEREAS, the Riverview area is expenencmg accelerated residential
development due to its setting m relation to the region's employment centers,
and
WHEREAS, the area is expected to gradually require municipal utilities
and other municipal services associated with incorporation to the City of Pasco,
and
WHEREAS, the present residents of the Riverview area have expressed
opposition to such incorporation, usually citing differences in life style, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish municipal standards
appropriate to accommodate the life style desired by the residents of Riverview,
and
WHEREAS, the City Council fmds it most appropnate to solicit the
advice and input of Riverview residents in the development of such standards,
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
§1. There is hereby created an ad hoc advisory committee whose charge
shall be to advise the city as to the life style to be preserved in the Riverview
area and development of municipal standards therefor
§2. The committee shall consist of nine (9) members, eight (8) of whom
shall be residents of the Riverview area and be appointed by the Mayor and
confirmed by a majonty of the City Council. The ninth seat of the committee
shall be filled by the Mayor, who shall act as Chair of the committee The
City Manager shall provide staff support as deemed necessary and appropnate to
assist the committee in accomplishing its charge

§3. The findings and recommendations of the committee shall be
documented by the City Manager and presented to the City Council not later than
March 22, 1993 The committee shall be temporary and shall cease to exist upon
completion of its work
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Pasco at a Regular Meeting
dated this 16th day of November, 1992
