HomeMy WebLinkAbout2037 ResolutionIs RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION creating an ad hoc committee to be known as the Property Maintenance Standards Task Force. WHEREAS, many buildings in commercial and industrial areas of the city have not been properly maintained and have been permitted to detenorate in appearance, if not also m structural character, and WHEREAS, many commercial and industrial uses permit materials, equipment and debns, to be plainly visible to passersby as well as neighboring properties, and WHEREAS, commercial and mdustnal uses within the city are commonly void of landscape while others that do provide minimal landscape improvements are grossly inadequate, and WHEREAS, such charactenstics contribute substantially to an atmosphere of disinvestment and declining property values, and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to eliminate or minimize such characteristics in the community and thereby foster a positive atmosphere for commercial and mdustnal investment, as well as increased or stabilized property values, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: §1. There is hereby created a special ad hoc task force, to be known as the "Property Maintenance Standards Task Force," whose charge shall be to study the problems of poor property improvement and maintenance standards, and advise the City Council as to actions designed to reduce, eliminate and avoid such problems m the community §2. The task force shall consist of mne (9) members, the appointment of whom shall be confirmed by the City Council, as follows • Two (2) members of the Pasco City Council • Three (3) members of the Greater Pasco Area Chamber of Commerce • Two (2) members of the Pasco Downtown Development Association • Two (2) citizens at-large §3.
