HomeMy WebLinkAbout1952 ResolutionJOE JACKSON, Mayor ATT EVELYN W LLS, City Clerk RESOLUTION NO. 1952 A RESOLUTION authorizing the purchase of 44 tax foreclosed lots in Desert Wind Estates and Sunland Heights No. 1 additions to the City of Pasco, from Franklin County. WHEREAS, Franklin County previously foreclosed for delinquent taxes, 44 lots and tracts of land in the Desert Wind Estates and Sunland Heights No. 1 additions to the City of Pasco; and WHEREAS, the City of Pasco has unforeclosed local improvement district assessments on said 44 lots and tracts of property, for which the local improvement assessments are delinquent and subject to foreclosure; and WHEREAS, in order to protect its local improvement district lien, state law authorizes the city to acquire the properties from the county at any time before resale by the county and to receive a deed therefor upon paying the face value of the delinquent taxes and costs, without penalty or interest; and WHEREAS, such purchase is necessary to protect the city's lien; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: 1. City staff is authorized to purchase the tax foreclosed lots and tracts of land in Desert Wind Estates and Sunland Heights No. 1 additions to the City of Pasco, from Franklin County, for the amount of the foreclosed taxes and costs to Franklin County, the total purchase price of which is estimated to be approximately $65,000. 2. The funds for said purchase shall be from the city's Local Improvement District Guarantee Fund. 3. The City Manager shall be authorized to sign all documents necessary to complete the purchase and conveyance from the county. 4. The proceeds from the sale of the properties by the city shall be returned to the guarantee fund. PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED by the Mayor this 18th day of March, 1991.
