JACK 0N-7--M -ayor NEVA CORK M, Commissioner CITY OF PASCO RESOLUTION NO. 1921 FRANKLIN COUNTY RESOLUTION ,NO. 90183 A JOINT RESOLUTION establishing a Senior Center Expansion Committee WHEREAS, the number of senior citizens in Pasco and Franklin County continues to grow commensurate with the aging of the population; and WHEREAS, the services and programs provided for senior citizens have grown and expanded over the past two decades, largely aided by federal funds provided through the Area Agency on Aging in addition to local general tax dollars; and WHEREAS, the Pasco/Franklin County Senior Citizens Center was constructed in 1980, but the Senior Citizens Association has, over the past several years, urged the City of Pasco and Franklin County to consider expansion of the Center to accommodate additional services and programs; and WHEREAS, prior to undertaking any expansion of the Center, it is prudent to reassess the senior citizens services and space needs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MUTUALLY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO AND THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF FRANKLIN COUNTY Section 1. There is hereby established a select committee, to be referred to as the "Senior Center Expansion Committee", with the principal charge to re- examine senior citizen services needs and advise as to appropriate space expansion, including estimated capital and operating costs thereof. Section 2. The committee shall be composed of seven persons, as follows a) Two members appointed by the Pasco City Council. b) Two members appointed by the Franklin County Commissioners. c) The President of the Pasco/Franklin County Senior Citizen Association. d) A member of the Franklin County Area Agency Advisory Committee e) The Coordinator of the Pasco/Franklin County Senior Citizens Center. Section 3. The members initially appointed shall, at the first meeting of the committee, elect a Chairman and Vice-Chairman from among its members and adopt its Rules of Procedure for the conduct of its meetings. The Senior Citizen _Center Coordinator shall provide a secretary for the committee. Section 14 The members of the committee shall be appointed jointly by the legislative bodies of the City of Pasco and Franklin County and shall serve during the life of the committee. The life of the committee shall expire on September 30, 1990, unless otherwise extended by joint action of the legislative bodies of the City of Pasco and Franklin County. Cor um, Member FRANKLIN COUNTY RESOLUTION NO. 90- S-3 RE: SENIOR CENTER EXPANSION COMMITTEE WHEREAS, the County has been asked to appoint two members to the Senior Center Expansion Committee, and WHEREAS, the need to review future development of the present Senior Center of Pasco and Franklin County, NOW THEREFORE BE IT KNOWN that Donna Campbell, Instructor of Nursing at Columbia Basin College, 2600 N. 20th, Pasco, Washington 99301, and Dorothy Miller, P. 0. Box 27, Connell, Washington 99326, have accepted the appointment to the Franklin County and City of Pasco Senior Center Expansion committee, effective this date, May 30th, 1990 and no length of term is indicated.
