A RESOLUTION expressing support for Senate Bill 6077 regarding
public transit use of sales tax receipts
WHEREAS, the State Attorney General has issued a written opinion
which precludes the execution of an agreement between a transit district
and a municipality whereby the transit district would pay for roadway
maintenance performed by the municipality, and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 6077 would simply authorize transit districts
to enter into such agreements and thereby provide for local decisions to
be made by local elected officials, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO
That the Pasco City Council hereby endorses and strongly supports
the passage of Senate Bill 6077 by the Legislature and, further, hereby
directs that the Mayor shall so inform the appropriate legislative
representatives and the Association of Washington Cities
