RESOLUTION NO. 1887
A RESOLUTION of the City of Pasco endorsing and adopting the
Tr-Cities Regional Rivershore Enhancement Plan as
a guide for levee improvements/modifications and
development along the Pasco shoreline.
WHEREAS, the existence of levees along the Columbia
River in the City of Pasco present both a physical and visual
barrier to the shoreline and effectively prohibit the use of the
shoreline for recreation and economic opportunities; and
WHEREAS the City of Pasco recognizes that recreation and
commercial development along the river would provide significant
economic and intrinsic value to the city and its residences; and
WHEREAS, the City of Pasco recognizes the desirability of
developing a unified regional plan for enhancement of the
rivershore and did participate in a regional effort to that end;
and
WHEREAS, the Tr-Cities Regional Shoreline Enhancement
Plan has been completed and subsequently reviewed and
recommended for approval by the Planning Commission; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO:
That the City Council endorses the Tr-Cities Regional
Rivershore Enhancement Plan and adopts the same as it applies to
Pasco to be utilized as a guide for future rivershore
enhancement activities within the City of Pasco.
