'1,.... 4, DATE: April 17, 1989 MEMORANDUM TO: Jim Ajax, Director of Public Works FROM: Dennis H. Wright, City Engineery) SUBJECT: ENGINEERS REPORT ACCEPTING LID 120 PROJECT NO. 88-3-04 Council authorized the call for bids on May 16, 1988. Bids were opened on June 15, 1988. Council awarded the contract on June 24, 1988. Award was made to A & B Asphalt in the amount of $152,434.56. Notice to proceed was issued on July 14, 1988. The first working day charged to the project was July 25, 1988, and work was substantially completed on September 2, 1988, with no contract time remaining. One change order was issued after the substantial completion date, which involved a drainage problem. It included concrete work and asphalt patching, which could not be completed until this spring, which delayed final completion of the project. The LID portion of the project was finaled on October 3, 1988. There were 6 change orders issued for this project increasing the contract amount by $22,374.60. These change orders were primarily for additional storm drainage, street lighting and for traffic control during construction. The final contract cost was $173,793.16, or approximately 14% over the original contract amount. The project was completed substantially in conformance with the project specifications, and I recommend the project be accepted.
