A RESOLUTION concerning the sale of the golf course
residential and commercial properties.
WHEREAS, The City Council believes it in the public
interest that the undeveloped property of the city adjoining the
Pasco Municipal Golf Course proposed for commercial and
residential development be sold for such purposes; and
WHEREAS, Efforts of the city in the past to market the
property for commercial and residential development have been
unsuccessful and further considering that the current economic
climate is not conducive to the advertising of the property for
sale by competitive bid, and further considering that the City
Council believes that the best opportunity for sale of the
property at a price and upon terms and conditions that are in the
best public interest will come only from a negotiated sale of the
property; and
WHEREAS, A committee of the City Council has had
preliminary discussions with the MSL Group, a
and it appears that a negotiated sale of the property in the
public interest may be achieved with this group, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. It is in the best interests of the city and
the people of Pasco that the undeveloped real property of the
city adjacent to the Pasco Municipal Golf Course that is proposed
for residential and commercial development be sold. The property
is described in Attachment "A" hereto.
Section 2. A City Council committee appointed by the
Mayor together with the City Manager is authorized to engage with
negotiations with the MSL Group to establish terms and conditions
for the sale of the subject property. All negotiations by the
committee are non-binding until confirmed by majority vote of the
City Council.
