AND 2LAY FlAiR_ST AI tt -'77- 7 DATE: June 1, 1988 MEMORANDUM TO: JIM AJAX, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS FROM: DENNIS WRIGHT, CITY ENGINEER SUBJECT: ENGINEERS REPORT ACCEPTING THE OVERLAY AND WIDENING OF EAST LEWIS STREET PROJECT NO. 88-3-02 Council authorized the call for bids on March 7, 1988 Bids were opened on March 30, 1988 Council awarded the contract on April 4, 1988 Award was made to Acme Concrete Inc., Asphalt Division, in the amount of $ 56,485.00 Notice to proceed was issued on April 22, 1988 The first working day charged to the project was April 25, 1988 and work was substantially completed on May 20, 1988, with 4 working days left on the contract time. There was a change order issued for this project to change from an asphalt to concrete curb near the start of the project, however there was no change in project cost. The final contract cost was $ 53,171.94 or approximately 6 % under the original contract amount, which was due to an under run in project quantities. The project was completed substantially in conformance with the project specifications and I recommend the project be accepted. •
