RESOLUTION NO 1828
A RESOLUTION establishing a policy for the awarding of Civic
Appreciation Plaques
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the need to foster recognition
of and appreciation for certain civic achievements by members of the
community, and
WHEREAS, the City Council further desires to establish a process
to be used in determining who should receive such recognition and
appreciation, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO
AS FOLLOWS
Section 1 The City Council hereby establishes the policy that
it is a legitimate expenditure of city funds to purchase and present
suitable Civic Appreciation Plaques to those individuals, organizations,
firms or corporations, who, through their particular effort, have made
voluntarily a substantial contribution or achievement improving the community's
quality of life, thereby making the city a better place in which to live,
work, and enjoy life
Section 2 The City Council, in its sole discretion, will determine
who is to receive a Civic Appreciation Plaque, acting only on nominations
submitted through the City Manager's office using the form attached
hereto and, to the extent practicable, present such plaques during a
regular business meeting of the City Council
