RESOLUTION NO. 1824
A RESOLUTION of the City of Pasco supporting Tr-City Visitors
and Convention Bureau efforts to obtain an LDMF
grant to fund a Regional Rivershore Enhancement
Plan.
WHEREAS, the existence of levees along the Columbia
River in certain portions of Pasco presents both a physical and
visual barrier to the use of the shoreline and effectively
prohibits the use the shoreline as an economic development and
recreational opportunity; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has established a Shoreline
Improvement Committee to identify and recommend an action plan
for the improvement of the shorelines in the greater Pasco area;
and
WHEREAS, the adjoining communities sharing a common
interest in rivershore planning and improvements have also
appointed Planning Committees to study rivershore improvement;
and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to develop unified plans for
enhancement of the Columbia River and Lake Wallula within the
Tr-Cities for beneficial public and commercial use; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO:
Section 1. That the City Council supports the
Tr-City Visitors and Convention Bureau's efforts to obtain state
funding through the Local Development Matching Fund Program for
the purposes of funding a Regional Rivershore Enhancement Plan
for the Tr-Cities community.
