HomeMy WebLinkAbout1775 Resolutiong'ir C /40 AL ._i_.4-... /._.. n___ _ e -W.— Jack, , Mayor ATT T Evelyn Wells, City Clerk RESOLUTION NO 1775 A RESOLUTION directing the Planning Commission to study and recommend east-west corridors WHEREAS, the Burlington Northern Railroad yard physically and socially bi-sects the Pasco community, and WHEREAS, the Lewis Street Underpass, constructed in the 1930's, was and remains the only grade-separated crossing of the Burlington Northern Railroad yard and, although in good structural condition, will need replacement in the future, and WHEREAS, future replacement of the Lewis Street Underpass is viewed as the opportunity to improve east-west movement of traffic with one or more grade-separated crossings of the Burlington Northern Railroad yard, and WHEREAS, several east-west corridor options should be analyzed so as to identify the advantages and disadvantages of each and ultimately determine the preferred options, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO That the Planning Commission is hereby directed to study the various east-west corridor options and, after sufficient public hearing, to report to the City Council the Commission's findings and conclusions as to each option studied PASSED by the City Council of the City of Pasco this 4th day of May, 1987 APPROVED AS TO FORM
