A RESOLUTION Rescinding approval of a bus stop and bus
passenger shelter in the vicinity of 20th and Court Streets; and
granting approval of a bus stop location and shelter in the
vicinity of 19th and Court Streets.
WHEREAS, After considerable study and consideration of
staff reports and discussions with staff and officials of the
Benton-Franklin Transit Benefit Authority, the city council has
determined that the bus stop adjacent to the Old National Bank
Branch at 20th and Court Streets is a hinderance to the regular
and safe flow of traffic on Court Street; and
WHEREAS, The movement of the bus stop further east on
Court Street will still allow for a bus stop location for transit
riders that is convenient to the businesses and other bus
transfer points in the area of 20th and Court Streets; and
WHEREAS, There is suitable space for a bus stop and
shelter on the south side of Court Street near the Superlube
business, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Prior approval of the Pasco City Council for
a bus stop on the south side of Court Street adjacent to the Old
National Bank Branch at 20th and Court Streets and for the bus
passenger shelter at said bus stop, is hereby rescinded.
Section 2. Approval is hereby granted to the
Benton-Franklin Transit Benefit Authority for a bus stop upon the
south side of Court Street beginning at a point ninety-five feet
(95') west of the center line of the right-of-way for 19th Avenue
and extending west along the curbline a distance of sixty feet
(60'). A passenger shelter is also approved for said bus stop
location in the western most thirteen feet (13') within the area
four and one-half feet (4-1/2') from the curb line.
Section 3. The provisions of this Resolution shall be
superior to and pre-empt any provision of any earlier resolution
contradictory hereto.
APP ED AS TO FORM:
Section 4. The provisions of Sections 1, 2 and 3 shall
become effective on November 6, 1986.
PASSED This 6th day of October, 1986 and APPROVED By the
Mayor.
