RESOLUTION NO. 1734
A RESOLUTION of the Pasco City Council in support of
raising $1,100.00 in local contributions to
support the construction of a Vietnam
Veterans Memorial in Olympia, Washington.
WHEREAS, eleven young men from Pasco died in the service
of their country in the Vietnam conflict; and,
WHEREAS, the State of Washington is administering a
memorial fund, the contributions to which will be used to fund
the building of a Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Olympia, that will
include the names of those eleven who died from the City of
Pasco; and
WHEREAS, the Pasco City Council unanimously supports the
building of this memorial and encourages local contributions to
the fund in an amount of at least the local goal of $1,100.00;
and
WHEREAS, all such contributions are tax-deductible and
can be sent to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund at any
Seafirst, Rainier, or First Interstate Bank, or directly to the
Department of Veteran Affairs, P.O. Box 9778, Olympia, Washington
98504,
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON DO
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Pasco City Council gives its unanimous support to
the building of a Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Olympia,
Washington and encourages local contributions to the Vietnam
Memorial Fund, toward the end that those eleven Pasco citizens
who died from the Vietnam conflict may be memorialized with those
other citizens of the State of Washington who gave their lives in
the service of their country.
