RESOLUTION NO. 1705
A RESOLUTION renaming the East Pasco Neighborhood Facility
as "The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center".
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the late Dr. Martin Luther
King in the cause of human understanding among all people and in
his efforts to bring human dignity to all peoples of this United
States are great; and
WHEREAS, the life long work of this great man has affected
so profoundly the lives of so many people living today and who
will be born in the future; and
WHEREAS, the observance and recognition of his
accomplishments should be made not only at the national and state
level but in the communities of our nation; and
WHEREAS, the Pasco City Council at the request of local
citizens wishes to recognize the achievements of this great man
at the local level, and cause a constant reminder of those values
that he cherished be before the people of our city, now,
therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
The East Pasco Neighborhood Facility is now hereby renamed
"The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center", in honor of
the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
PASSED this 16th day of January, 1986, and approved by the
Mayor.
