RESOLUTION NO 1595
A RESOLUTION of the City of Pasco relating to a compre-
hensive Solid Waste Management Plan, and re-
authorizing the Benton-Franklin Governmental
Conference as the Regional Solid Waste Planning
Agency
WHEREAS, RCW 70 95 requires that each county within the State
of Washington, in cooperation with the various cities located
in such county, shall prepare and update a Comprehensive Solid
Waste Management Plan, and
WHEREAS, the Benton-Franklin Governmental Conference (BFGC)
has been the said authorized planning agency for the bi-county
area since 1970, and
WHEREAS, the BFGC Board has asked its members at this time
to reaffirm their commitment to participate in the regional planning
process and to authorize the BFGC to act as the Regional Solid
Waste Management Planning Agency in behalf of the member jurisdictions,
and
WHEREAS, the BFGC Board has authorized submission of a grant
application to the Washington State Department of Ecology for
matching monies to complete a plan update, and
WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of continuing to participate
in such a regional planning program, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO
That the City hereby reaffirms its commitment to a regional
solid waste planning program and hereby authorizes the Benton-
Franklin Governmental Conference, acting through its Board, to
act as the Regional Solid Waste Management Planning Agency in
behalf of the City of Pasco
