1585 RESOLUTION NO
A RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT AND ENDORSEMENT OF SENIOR
CITIZEN PLANS TO SEEK VOTER APPROVAL OF FUNDING TO
EXPAND THE PASCO/FRANKLIN COUNTY SENIOR CENTER AND
TO BUILD A CONNELL SENIOR CENTER
WHEREAS, approximately fourteen (14%) percent of the population
of the City of Pasco is in the Senior Citizen category, and
WHEREAS, on a broader scale, approximately eleven percent (11%)
of the population of Franklin County is in this classification, and
WHEREAS, these citizens have collectively contributed generously
during their working lives to help make this area a better place in which to
earn a living and enjoy the creature comforts of life, and
WHEREAS, the present Pasco/Franklin County Senior Center is
heavily utilized with a wide range of programs and is getting seriously over-
crowded, and
WHEREAS, a suitable Senior Center is much needed at Connell,
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
Section 1 The City Council of Pasco supports and endorses
plans to exnand the Pasco/Franklin County Center in accordance with the original
masterplan and to build a new center at Connell
Section 2 The City Council of Pasco endorses the plan expressed
by the Senior Citizens to place on the ballot before the voters of Franklin
County, a proposition to impose a property tax levy to expand the Pasco/Franklin
County Senior Center and to construct and furnish a center at Connell
