HomeMy WebLinkAbout1582 Resolutionells, City Clerk RESOLUTION NO 1582 A RESOLUTION requesting the State Department of Transportation, thiough action by its Transportation Commission, to name the 1-182 Bridge across the Columbia River as the "George L Cook Bridge" WHEREAS, through many years, George L Cook was an active supporter and effective leader in helping to promote a good roads system for the State of Washington, and WHEREAS, George L Cook exerted strenuous efforts to help persuade the development and construction of the Interstate 182 spur in the Tr-Cities, and WHEREAS, George L Cook is now enjoying retirement, and WHEREAS, George L Cook deserves to be recognized for his unselfish and tireless efforts in behalf of good roads and a better transportation system, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO Section 1 The City Council of Pasco urges the Transportation Commission of the State of Washington to name the I 182 bridge across the Columbia River as the "George L Cook Bridge" Section 2 The City Manager is hereby directed to transmit copies of this resolution to the Secretary of Transportation and to the members of the Transportation Commission, to the state legislators serving the Tr-Cities area, to Governor John Spellman, and to Mr George L Cook PASSED by the City Council of the City of Pasco this day of June , 1983 ATTEST_ APPROVED AS TO FORM reg A ubstello, City Attorney
