RESOLUTION NO. 1568
A RESOLUTION urging joint city/county consideration of
commercial development policies currently
being contemplated by Franklin County.
WHEREAS, the commercial development policies presently con-
tained in both the Franklin County and City of Pasco Comprehensive
Plans strive to facilitate commercial development at arterial street
intersections and minimize the land use and traffic conflicts
associated with arterial street development; and
WHEREAS, the commercial development policy changes currently
being contemplated by the Franklin County Planning Commission will,
if adopted, create serious conflicts with the commercial development
policies established by the City of Pasco; and
WHEREAS, the conflicts Inherent in such different policies
may result in significant, development-related problems at a sub-
stantial cost to the general public; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PASCO CITY COUNCIL AS FOLLOWS:
That the City of Pasco hereby expresses its serious concern
regarding the commercial development policy changes currently being
contemplated by Franklin County and, further, hereby urges that the
Franklin County and City of Pasco Planning Commissions jointly con-
sider such policies prior to any formal recommendations being issued
by the Franklin County Planning Commission to the Franklin County
Commissioners.
