A RESOLUTION authorizing the City Manager to enter into
agreements with certain employees for the
payment of travel allowances to such employees
for their use of private vehicles in lieu of
city owned vehicles.
WHEREAS, the City of Pasco is currently providing city owned
vehicles to city departments for the use of employees for their
travel in and about the Tr-Cities area on city business at con-
siderable expense to the city; and
WHEREAS, recognizing the economy in providing a travel allowance
to certain employees in lieu of their use of a city owned vehicle,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, as
follows:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into
agreements with employees in the following positions for their
payment of a monthly travel allowance for their use of privately
owned vehicles in lieu of their use of a city owned vehicle for
travel on city business in and about the Tr-Cities area (a twenty-
five mile radius from Pasco City Hall):

The agreements shall provide for a reasonable annual increase in the
monthly travel allowance to the employee for the term of the agreement.
Section 2. Such agreements may be for a maximum of four years
in duration, subject to early termination if employment is terminated
for any reason.
Section 3. Any such employees receiving a travel allowance
shall as a condition to their receipt of the travel allowance and
as a provision of their agreement with the city, drive an automobile
not more than eight years of age.
