A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Pasco approving
participation by the City of Pasco within the boundaries of
a transit service area.
WHEREAS, the Benton-Franklin Public Transportation Improvement
Conference has recommended to the Benton and Franklin County Commissioners
that a boundary for the proposed transit service area include the Tn.-Cities
urbanizing portions of both Benton and Franklin Counties; and
WHEREAS, each City Council within the proposed transit service area
has been asked to determine whether it wishes to have its community included
within the proposed transit service area of the proposed Public Benefit Transit
Authonty (PTBA); and
WHEREAS, a confirmation of the boundaries of this proposed PTBA is
needed to allow the appropriate officials to proceed with necessary preliminary
work, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO.
Section 1. The City of Pasco hereby approves the boundaries of the
proposed PTBA as shown in Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto and is by
reference a part of this resolution.
Section 2 The City Clerk is instructed to transmit a true and exact copy
of this resolution to the County Commissioners of Franklin and Benton Counties,
with copies to the other cities within the proposed PTBA transit service area.
Section 3. The City Council reserves the right, pursuant to State la \w-, to
withdraw from the PTBA transit service program if circumstances attendant to the
March 10 advisory referendum are interpreted by the Council to dictate a
withdrawal.
