A RESOLUTION declaring the intent of the City Council of the City
of Pasco to enforce the occupancy provisions of the
Uniform Building Code and Uniform Fire Code within
the City of Pasco.
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted certain portions of the
Uniform Building Code and Uniform Fire Code to provide for the safety
and general welfare of the community; and
WHEREAS, said codes require that certain standards and conditions
be fulfilled prior to occupancy of any structure; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that proper enforcement of the
certificate of occupancy provisions of said codes is necessary to
preserve the safety and welfare of the community; and
WHEREAS, the Council further finds that the premature occupancy
of a structure constitutes inequitable and improper enforcement of
said codes and detracts from the standards of safety and welfare set
forth in said codes; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO:
Section 1. The certificate of occupancy provisions contained
in the Uniform Building Code and Uniform Fire Code shall be consistently
applies in accordance with said provisions.
Section 2. That the administration shall initiate appropriate
remedial action in regard to violations of said provisions.
