HomeMy WebLinkAbout1379 ResolutionChet Bailie, Mayor AT • AL-4dr ve yn- '(ells, City Clerk RESOLUTION NO 1379 A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Pasco Expressing a Willingness to Cooperate with the Tr-Cities Community of Governmental and Private Entities to Support Energy Fair '83. WHEREAS, the City Council gives special recognition to the importance of Energy Fair '83; and WHEREAS, the City Council is dedicated to the success of Energy Fair '83; and WHEREAS, the City Council endorses the recommendation of the Greater Pasco Committee for Energy Fair '83 for the strategically located Tr-Cities site at Columbia Basin College and in proximity to the Tr-Cities Airport, and WHEREAS, the City Council is confident that the Thoresen-Peterson Planning Group will make a site selection on objective evaluation of sound site selection criteria, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO Section 1. That the Energy Fair '83 Commission of appointed delegates, headed by Charles Keenan, can expect the support and cooperation of the City of Pasco for the ultimate site on which Energy Fair '83 is to be staged Section 2. That the Steering Committee for Energy Fair '83 and the Non-Profit Corporation for Energy Fair '83 can expect similar support and cooperation from the City of Pasco to the extent that the City has the resources to put behind such a commitment. Section 3. That the City Council recognizes the national and international focus that Energy Fair '83 will bring to the Tr-Cities and the Mid-Columbia Area. Section 4. That the City Council recognizes that it will take the dedicated and continuing efforts of an enormous number of Tri-Cities citizens to bring the dream of an Energy Fair '83 into an exciting reality, one which will bring lasting economic, social, cultural and educational gains to all citizens of all of our communities making up the Tr-Cities urban community 3 PASSED by the City Council of the City of Pasco this day of November , 1980 APPROVED AS TO FORM Dennis J De Felice, City Attorney
