HomeMy WebLinkAbout1375 ResolutionATTE Chet Bailie, Mayor RESOLUTION NO. 1375 A RESOLUTION of the City of Pasco endorsing and urging approval by the voters of Referendum 39 on November 4, 1980 WHEREAS, Referendum 39, submitted to the voters at the November general election, in accordance with Chapter 159, Laws of Washington, 1980, is a bond measure that will in the next ten years supply $450 million for the construction of additional waste treatment facilities, including municipal facilities, to keep our rivers, lakes and saltwater clean; and WHEREAS, Referendum 39 will not require new taxes nor tax increases, and WHEREAS, the overloading of inadequate waste treatment plants causes the excess waste to flow untreated into the receiving waters destroying the delicate balance of nature's purification process and drastically lowering water quality; and WHEREAS, new and expanded waste treatment facilities are urgently needed to adequately serve the City of Pasco and its citizens, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO Section 1. Approval of Referendum 39 is urgently needed by the City of Pasco and is strongly endorsed by the City Council, and all citizens of Pasco are urged to vote in favor of Referendum 39 on November 4, 1980.
