HomeMy WebLinkAbout1371 ResolutionAT ST- Chet Bailie, Mayor y Wells, City Clerk RESOLUTION NO. 1371 A RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Pasco to enter into a Tr-Cities Mutual Aid Agreement with the Cities of Richland and Kennewick and the Fire Districts Benton County #1, Benton County #2, Benton County #4, Franklin County #3, Walla Walla County #5 and the Rockwell Hanford Fire Protection Department. WHEREAS, each of the parties hereto maintains equipment and personnel for the suppression of fires within its own jurisdiction and areas, and WHEREAS, six of the parties also provide emergency medical services within their jurisdictions and areas, and WHEREAS, the parties hereto desire to augment the fire and emergency medical protection available in their various establishments, districts, agencies and municipalities in the event of large fires or conflagrations or other disaster, and WHEREAS, the lands or districts of the parties hereto are adjacent or contiguous so that mutual assistance in a fire or medical emergency is deemed feasible, and WHEREAS, it is the policy of the above municipalities or other districts and of their governing bodies to conclude such agreements wherever practicable, and WHEREAS, it is mutually deemed sound, desirable, practicable, and beneficial for the parties to this agreement to render assistance to one another in accordance with these terms; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO: That the City Council of the City of Pasco hereby approves the Tr-Cities Mutual Aid Agreement referred to above, a copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A", and incorporated herein as though fully set forth at length, and hereby directs the Mayor and City Clerk pursuant to Pasco Municipal Code Section 18.08.020 to execute said document.
