CITY OF PASCO RESOLUTION NO. 1364
A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE CITIES OF PASCO AND KENNEWICK
PLACING BEFORE THE VOTERS AN ADVISORY PROPOSITION
CONCERNING THE OLD PASCO-KENNEWICK INTERCITY BRIDGE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Pasco and the City of Kennewick
by joint Resolution Nos. 1247 and 79-26 declared the old Pasco-Kennewick
Intercity Bridge to be a public nuisance and called for its demolition, and
WHEREAS, certain citizens have indicated that the public would rather
retain the old bridge and put it to some other purpose, but it appears that the
cost of continually maintaining that structure will be an expensive burden upon
the public treasury of the Cities of Pasco and Kennewick, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Pasco and the City of Kennewick
have explored other alternatives for the use of the old bridge but have found no
effective alternatives to demolition; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Councils of the Cities of Pasco and
Kennewick to solicit the opinion of those citizens who will ultimately bear the
cost of either demolition or retention of the said structure; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO AND THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEWICK that an advisory ballot proposition
shall be submitted to the voters of the City of Pasco and the City of Kennewick
at the primary election to be held on September 16, 1980, which ballot
proposition shall read as follows

The City Clerk of the City of Pasco and the City of Kennewick shall certify
